The Glass Filter Media Beads (25 kg) are manufactured from 100% pure glass and feature a perfectly spherical shape with a grain size of 1.0–3.0 mm. Designed for superior filtration performance, they offer a more efficient and longer-lasting alternative to traditional quartz filter sand. Unlike conventional filter media that can retain contaminants within their structure, glass beads are chemically inert, ensuring a cleaner filtration system and faster filter commissioning. In the unlikely event of a filter failure, the beads are completely safe if they enter the swimming pool. The perfectly rounded beads create a highly homogeneous filter bed, capable of removing particles as small as 3 microns, resulting in exceptionally clear water. They are particularly recommended for saltwater pools and pools using mineral water, where their performance significantly exceeds that of standard filter sand. Thanks to their smooth surface, contaminants are easily removed during backwashing, requiring up to 20% less water than traditional sand. This reduces water consumption, operating costs, and maintenance time. Because glass beads are denser than quartz sand, only 80% of the equivalent sand weight is required. In other words, 1 kg of filter sand can be replaced with just 0.8 kg of glass beads.
